About Me...
At the office, my second home! My "Day Job" Serving as the Director of Internships at a seminary where I assist in the training of men for ministry brings me a great sense of joy and purpose. (And someone here must like me because 1987 marked the date of my arrival on campus!) Helping to train leaders to serve as mentors for our men, discovering folks who want to partner with us at the seminary, preparing men for their one-year internship experience under the guidance of a ministry leader, and sharing my ideas in a variety of classroom settings allows me to do what I love to do on a regular basis. My Interests The challenge of creating words and phrases that motivate, encourage or inspire a person is a practice that fascinates me. In short, I love to write. And speaking of what I love... The word "family" means more to me than I ever dreamed it would -- or even could for that matter. Other than Jesus, my greatest treasures on earth fall into the category of family. Should I stop long enough to reflect on additional areas interest, they would fall into the "simple pleasures" category: reading, walking (especially on an ocean beach!), taking in the colors of the seasons, listening to the laughter of others, helping people enjoy life in any way I can, and continuing to educate myself in the very broad arena of self-development. Oh, yes, and my computer! A growing appreciation for the internet marketing world serves to drive me back to my computer. Between that interest and my drive to keep on writing, I find myself spending many hours on the keyboard of my technological friend. My "Reason" A few years ago I decided to go through the process of creating a mission statement. After more than a few hours of effort, quiet reflection and prayer, I settled on this...
To Live A Life
Of Influence Striving to live up to this statement drives me to refocus after setbacks and keep moving forward in "the good days." While growing up in mid-west America, the idea of designing a purpose statement such as the one you just read did not occupy the thoughts of this guy's mind -- I'll tell ya that! Someone, however, cared deeply about a Marine named Lee, invaded his life in the late sixties, and set him on a new journey that continues to this day. ________________
